Laos reports no new Covid-19 cases

VIENTIANE (Xinhua): Laos has tested over 132 suspected cases, and all of them were negative, with the total confirmed cases standing at 16.

Lao Deputy Minister of Health, Phouthone Meaungpak told at a press conference in the capital city Vientiane on Friday (April 10) that Covid-19 infected cases in Laos remained at 16, as no new cases were confirmed.

As of Friday, Laos has tested 1,035 suspected cases, with 16 tested positive.

A total of 13 cases are treated in designated Hospital -- Mittaphab Hospital (150 Hospital), another three cases are treated in provincial hospital in Luang Prabang province.

The 11th case, a 55-year-old man from Papua New Guinea is currently in the intensive care unit at Mittaphab Hospital, while another 15 cases are not in serious condition, said a Lao official.

Laos detected the first two confirmed Covid-19 cases on March 24. - Xinhua
