MELBOURNE: World number one and 2019 Roland Garros champion Ashleigh Barty got revenge for last year's Wimbledon defeat by Alison Riske with a 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 win over the American to reach the quarter-finals of the Melbourne major on Sunday (Jan 26).

The 23-year-old will meet fellow former Grand Slam winner Petra Kvitova in the quarters for a second straight year after the Czech went past Greek rising star Maria Sakkari 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 6-2.
