TAGAYTAY (Philippines): Red-hot lava gushed out of a Philippine volcano on Monday (Jan 13) after a sudden eruption of ash and steam that forced villagers to flee en masse and shut down Manila’s international airport, offices and schools.
Clouds of ash blew more than 100km (62 miles) north of the Taal volcano, reaching the bustling capital, Manila, and forcing the shutdown of the country's main airport with more than 500 flights cancelled so far.
