HONG KONG, China Daily, Dec 26 – The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region’s government has strongly refuted irresponsible and grossly unfair remarks issued by Hong Kong Watch accusing local police of taking brutal action against "peaceful shoppers and protesters" on Christmas Eve.
In a statement issued on Wednesday evening, a HKSAR government spokesman said violent protesters had staged illegal assemblies, committed arson and blockaded roads in Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok on Christmas Eve.
