JAKARTA (ANN): Indonesia’s future capital is to be turned into an autonomous province, with the exception of the city’s centre of government, which is to be a special region, according to the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas).
Bappenas head Suharso Monoarfa said the soon-to-be-built capital city, which will sit atop 256,000ha of land in what are currently the regencies of North Penajam Paser and Kutai Kartanegara in East Kalimantan, is set to become a new province.
