Moderate quake rattles Talaud Islands, Indonesia

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): A moderate earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale hit Talaud Islands, Indonesia, at 7.32am on Wednesday (Sept 11).

According to a statement from the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), the epicentre was located 43km east of Talaud Islands, Indonesia, at a depth of 73km.

However, it did not pose a tsunami threat to Malaysia, the statement said. – Bernama
