Man remanded 12 days after girlfriend set on fire

BANGKOK (The Nation/ANN): The police have secured a court approval to remand a 30-year-old man for an initial 12 days after he surrendered upon being sought for allegedly setting his 35-year-old girlfriend on fire in a fit of jealous rage.

Police said would oppose his being released on bail – if his relatives applied for it – on the grounds that he was considered a flight risk, said Police Captain Somyot Chanthalert of the Plaeng Yao police station.
