TODAY, July 7, is a historic day. It was on this day in 2017 that the UN General Assembly passed the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW), which was adopted by 122 states.
Many are hoping that the TPNW will enter into force by August 2020, the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
