Hanoi: Vietnam’s top political body announced that 1.5 million pigs have been culled to stem the epidemic of African swine flu, an increase of 300,000 animals since last week.
In a directive from the ruling Communist Party’s Central Committee dated on Monday, authorities said 1.5 million pigs have been destroyed since February, accounting for over five per cent of the country’s total pig population.
