Garuda cancels Boeing Max 8 order


PT Garuda Indonesia(pic), Lion Air and PT AirAsia Indonesia are among the carriers which cut prices from Jan 11, the Indonesian National Air Carrier Association said in a statement yesterday.

Jakarta: Indonesian national carrier Garuda has cancelled an order for 49 Boeing 737 Max 8 passenger jets following recent deadly crashes in Ethiopia and Indonesia involving the same type of aircraft, the company said.

Garuda has sent a letter to Boeing requesting the cancellation, said Garuda spokesman Ikhsan Rosan yesterday.
