MACAU: Macau’s youngest-ever lawmaker, a leading pro-democracy advocate, has been suspended from the city’s legislature in an echo of the disqualification of rebel Hong Kong legislators as China’s pressure on political opponents grows.
The government of the semi-autonomous southern Chinese gambling enclave is largely pro-establishment but Sulu Sou, 26, was voted into the legislature in public elections in September.
