Uncles sentenced to life for raping 10-year-old Indian girl who was then denied abortion

MUMBAI: An Indian court on Thursday (Nov 2) sentenced to life in prison two Indian men who were convicted of raping their 10-year-old niece in a case that caused a global furore when the girl was denied an abortion and had to give birth earlier this year.

A fast-track court in the northwestern city of Chandigarh also imposed a fine of 350,000 rupees (RM22,920) each on the two men, who are brothers.
