TAIPEI: China is mulling participation in upcoming Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) talks to be held in Chile in the wake of the United States’ withdrawal from the agreement, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesman has said.
The spokesman was responding to a Reuters report that cited a Chilean official as saying that representatives from 12 countries that formed the TPP, plus China and South Korea, would meet today and tomorrow for the first time since US President Donald Trump pulled his country out of the group, effectively killing it in its current form.
