MANILA: A total of 895 drug pushers were killed while more than 500,000 drug pushers and addicts surrendered in the first two months of the nationwide campaign against illegal drugs by the Duterte administration.

The Philippine National Police on Tuesday released a tally of casualties in the antidrug campaign from July 1 to August 30 and stressed that those killed either grabbed the guns of raiding policemen or engaged the officers in a firefight in legitimate police operations.
