Philippine President Benigno Aquino has been in power since 2010.

MANILA: Members of the bandit Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) who beheaded Canadian John Ridsdel last week threatened to kill President Benigno Aquino III (pic).

In a 52-second video of Ridsdel’s beheading which is circulating online, an ASG member addressed Aquino and threatened to cut his head off if they meet before proceeding to kill the Canadian.

“Noynoy Aquino, tignan mo kung hindi mo binibigay ‘yung ransom namin, puputulan ko ng ulo ‘yung Canadian. Pati ikaw kung mahuli kita puputulan din kita,” the man said in the video, which was posted on www.zerocensorship.com. (Noynoy Aquino, watch this; if you will not give us the ransom, we will cut this Canadian’s head off. You too, if I find you, I’ll cut your head off.)

A 20 million pesos (RM1.6mil) ransom had been raised for delivery to the Abu Sayyaf captors on the day Ridsdel was beheaded. The ASG was demanding 300 million pesos (RM25.4mil) for each of the four kidnap victims.

Fellow Canadian Robert Hall, Norweigian Kjartan Sekkingstad and Filipino Maritess Flor remain captives of the bandit group.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who first broke the news of the beheading, said his country will not pay ransoms for the release of its citizens following Ridsdel’s gruesome killing.
