Singapore: After 20 years of deliberation dogged by controversy, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given the green light for the world’s first genetically engineered animal to reach dinner plates.
The genetically modified (GM) salmon was created in 1992 by Emeritus Professor Hew Choy Leong from the department of biological sciences at the National University of Singapore.
