A 53-year-old eye surgeon who hid nearly S$450,000 (RM1.2mil) in extra earnings from his employer has been fined S$30,000 (RM77,734) for criminal breach of trust (CBT). Marc Tay Tze-Hsin (pic), a former national swimmer who was named Sportsboy of the Year in 1977, was also fined S$2,000 (RM5,182) for breaching the Companies Act.
A district court heard how his clinic, Tay Eye Surgery, was acquired by Pacific Healthcare Holdings in February 2001. It was subsequently renamed Pacific Healthcare Specialist Services (PHSS), in which he was a director.
