WASHINGTON: A Chinese-owned company has sued US President Barack Obama for blocking its wind farm project purchase deal, claiming that the president’s order exceeded its constitutional rights and failed to provide detailed evidence.
In an amended complaint filed on Monday in the US District Court in Washington, Ralls Corp, a company owned by Chinese nationals, said Obama acted in “an unlawful and unauthorised manner” in issuing the order without providing “any evidence or reasoned explanation” for his decision to use a national defence law in prohibiting the acquisition and ordering the company to divest the four wind farms.
