BEIJING: Chinas trade surplus surged nearly 73% in May from a year earlier, official data showed yesterday an unexpectedly big rise that signalled further tensions with the United States.
Chinas trade surplus for May hit US$22.45bil (RM76.3bil), the second-highest ever behind Februarys figure of US$23.7bil (RM80.5bil), according to data posted on the customs administration website.
