US Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan and Treasury secretary John Snow made headlines in the Chinese media last week when both warned against slapping tariffs on imports from China – something the Chinese wanted to hear.
Last Thursday, Greenspan and Snow urged the US Congress not to impose import tariffs on China. They concurred that such a move would not be the remedy for the country’s bloated trade deficit and might backfire.
