SRINAGAR: Thousands of Muslims yesterday thronged a revered shrine in the main city of revolt-hit Indian Kashmir and prayed for the return of peace on the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Mohammed.
Men, women and children prayed at the lakeside white-marbled Hazratbal shrine which houses a whisker that Muslims believe comes from the Prophet's beard.
