BEIJING: A spat over a news briefing by South Korean MPs that was broken up by Chinese security agents snowballed into a diplomatic row yesterday with the countries trading accusations over who was at fault.
The parliamentarians left a hotel conference room, where they had been holed up for 11 hours, yesterday demanding the Chinese government explain why they were not allowed to hold the news conference about North Korean refugees and that the “ruffians” who broke it up be punished.
