BANDA ACEH: The chaotic operation to help Indonesia's tsunami survivors stalled yesterday after a plane crash blocked the relief effort's main airport, as the UN warned there could be tens of thousands of new deaths.
Even as hundreds of workers backed by helicopters descended on Aceh province on Sumatra island, the area worst-hit by the Dec 26 tsunamis, the UN's aid coordination chief said the full horror of the death and ruin had yet to be realised.
