TOKYO: Japan warned yesterday of a “serious response” to North Korea if it was not more forthcoming on the status of Japanese people it kidnapped during the Cold War.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Hiroyuki Hosoda, the government spokesman, said a study concluded that the communist state gave false evidence to a Japanese delegation last month to claim that eight kidnap victims were dead.
