REAL (Philippines): Panicked residents scrambled to flee three storm-ravaged coastal towns yesterday while rescuers made last-ditch attempts to find survivors of the powerful storm that left more than 1,100 dead and missing.
This is the only port being serviced by commercial ferries in the disaster area and the arrival of the latest ferry was met by a crush of more than 500 people forcing themselves on board despite the vessel's 110-person capacity.
