JAKARTA: A Lion Air passenger plane skidded off the runway and crashed yesterday during heavy rains in Central Indonesia, killing at least 31 people and injuring 62, police and airport officials said.
The accident occurred around 6 pm local time as Flight JT583 landed at Adi Sumarmo airport in Solo, a thriving tourist town about 500km southeast of here, the airline confirmed.
