CHINESE companies made overseas direct investments valued at US$2.85bil (RM10.83bil) last year, an increase of 5.5% compared to 2002, the Ministry of Commerce said Monday.
By the end of 2003, the total sum of overseas direct investment by these firms reached US$33.2bil (RM126.16bil), the ministry said in the Statistical Communiqué of China on Overseas Direct Investment, jointly issued with the National Bureau of Statistics.
