BANGKOK: Two members of the security forces were shot and killed in the latest separatist violence in Thailand's troubled south that has left more than 275 people dead this year, officials said yesterday.
At least two gunmen armed with an assault rifle and a pistol attacked two soldiers on duty at a village in the province of Narathiwat, fatally wounding one and slightly injuring the second.
