BANGKOK: Thailand said yesterday it would contest a US decision to slap punitive tariffs on Thai shrimp imports even though it claimed the lower-than-expected rates would help boost sales.
The United States on Thursday imposed tariffs of 5.56% to 10.25% on Thai exporters, claiming shrimp were being sold at artificially low prices.
