HEALTH screenings that include tumour markers to check for cancer are a waste of money, according to a leading cancer expert here.
Of the over 200 tumour markers, only two are recommended for screening. All the others serve no useful purpose in detecting cancer, said senior medical oncologist Sandeep Rajan of the National Cancer Centre.
