KATHMANDU: Nine people were killed and an Indian-run school was attacked in Nepal in renewed violence by Maoist rebels who have kept schools closed for four days in a nationwide strike, officials said yesterday.
A landmine killed seven policemen and injured seven others who were travelling in a truck on Tuesday through south-western Nepal, where troops shot dead two rebels in a separate incident, a security official said.
