SEOUL: South Korea announced yesterday that it will spend 60.5 billion won (RM197mil) over the next 10 years to mass-produce pig organs for human transplants as part of a government-backed push to excel in biotechnology.
South Korea's Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and other government agencies yesterday launched a task force of 90 scientists dedicated to producing genetically altered pig organs acceptable for human transplants.
