KABUL: President Hamid Karzai has enacted a long-awaited election law ahead of Afghanistan's first direct vote in September and clinched a power-sharing deal with potential rivals that could cement his place at the top.
The law, made public yesterday, comes less than three years after the fall of the hard-line Taliban regime.
