SRINAGAR: Kashmiri separatists said yesterday they hoped peace talks with India over the disputed Himalayan region would continue even with a change of government in New Delhi.

India's deputy prime minister, Lal Krishna Advani, and a moderate group of Kashmir's separatist alliance, the All Party Hurriyat Conference, started a dialogue in January.

“I hope talks will continue and I hope the change of government at the centre will not make any difference as far as the solution of the Kashmir problem is concerned,” Hurriyat Chairman Moulana Abbas Ansari said. – Reuters
