JAKARTA: Another alleged member of the Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) extremist network went on trial yesterday for a deadly hotel bombing in Jakarta and faces death if convicted under an anti-terror law.
The plotters surveyed several possible targets before selecting the US-franchised Marriott hotel as the easiest and highest-profile, according to the indictment against Masrizal bin Ali Umar, alias Mas'ud, alias Tohir.
