TAIPEI: Taiwan police have arrested a man who threatened to kill six foreign ambassadors if their presidents attend President Chen Shui-bian's inauguration on May 20.
“We arrested Hsieh Hong-yi after tracing the phone calls he made from public telephone booths and comparing fingerprints. He admitted having made the phone calls because he was dissatisfied with President Chen's winning re-election and was angry that post-election chaos caused him to lose in his stock investment,” Hou You-yi, director of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, told a news conference yesterday.
