MANILA: A Philippine evangelist running last in the presidential race displayed his drawing power yesterday as a sea of yellow T-shirts and flags spilled into the streets of Manila's financial district.
Television preacher Eddie Villanueva said the heavy turnout for his rally cast doubt on the results of opinion polls showing him in fifth and last place with only a little more than 5% of voter support. Police estimated the crowd at 10,000.
