MANILA: Suspected communist guerillas fired a grenade into a building housing the offices of multinational oil giant Shell early yesterday, punching a hole in a window but causing no injuries, police said.
The attackers slowed down in a taxi near the building at dawn in the Makati financial district, then opened fire with an M203 grenade launcher and an M16 rifle, surprising guards and panicking people in nearby residential towers who heard the crackle of heavy gunfire, police said.
