TAIPEI: Taiwan’s former president Lee Teng-hui appeared in court yesterday to answer questions about the alleged embezzlement of national security funds during his term.
The case centres on the alleged misappropriation of 250 million New Taiwan dollars (RM28.5mil) from secret accounts at the National Security Bureau – Taiwan’s most prominent intelligence agency. Prosecutors charged two former bureau officials in the case last November.
