TAIPEI: Taiwan's High Court gave the lawyers of President Chen Shui-bian and opposition leader Lien Chan five days yesterday to agree on the terms of a recount for the hotly disputed presidential election.
After a two-hour hearing for the lawsuit filed by Lien to nullify Chen's razor-thin victory, the three presiding judges made no ruling but asked the two parties to sort out their differences over how a recount should proceed.
