NEW DELHI: India and Pakistan have broken new ground with a successful cricket series which people in both countries said yesterday would help move forward a tentative peace process.
The nuclear-armed South Asian neighbours, who were near the brink of war over Kashmir in 2002, ended the five-match series of one-day games on Wednesday with a thrilling 3-2 win for the Indians on their first tour of Pakistan in 14 years.
