China jails Internet dissident
BEIJING: China has sentenced a prominent dissident to two years in prison after convicting him of subversion at a closed trial, a rights group said yesterday.Ouyang Yi was convicted on March 16 of “incitement to subvert state power” by circulating an online petition to the ruling Communist Party, New York-based Human Rights in China (HRIC) said.
