COLOMBO: Sri Lanka's Tamil Tigers released 35 child soldiers yesterday, but are still recruiting more under-age fighters than they allow to go free, the United Nations' children's agency said.
The issue of child soldiers is considered a test of the sincerity of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) as the rebels and government try to put a stalled peace process back on track to permanently end the island's civil war.
