JAKARTA: Jailed militant cleric Abubakar Ba’asyir attacked the United States and Australia yesterday for trying to block his scheduled release from an Indonesian jail next month, and warned America to stop what he called the persecution of Muslims.
The alleged spiritual leader of the al-Qaeda linked group Jemaah Islamiah is set to be released April 30 after serving his 18-month sentence for immigration violations, according to his lawyers.
