BEIJING (AP) - An explosion ripped through a coal mine in southwestern China, killing 12, officials said Saturday.
The blast in the Huaxiang Coal Mine in Bijie, a city in Guizhou province, happened Friday morning when 13 miners were underground, said an official from the city government who would give only his family name, Lu. One person survived, he said.
