BANGKOK: The United States and Thailand yesterday pledged closer co-operation in the war on terrorism with a new border security system, as US Homeland Security chief Tom Ridge paid a visit to the kingdom.
Ridge, in the midst of a trip to Asia to discuss joint anti-terrorism efforts with regional leaders, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of intent on a system to strengthen Thailand's immigration control and help it neutralise suspected terrorists.
