JAKARTA: Radical Indonesian Muslim preacher Abu Bakar Ba’asyir is deeply involved in terrorist activities and Washington hopes he can be brought to justice for his activities, a top US official said yesterday.
Ba’asyir, detained after the October 2002 Bali bombings and accused of heading the al-Qaeda-linked Jemaah Islamiah, may walk out of jail next month, his lawyer said a day after the Supreme Court halved his jail sentence.
