SINGAPORE: Indonesia's former military chief is seeking support for his presidential candidacy abroad, telling an audience here that President Megawati Sukarnoputri had failed to lead the country out of political and economic crisis, a newspaper reported yesterday.
Gen Wiranto told a group of diplomats, academics and business people that reforms had stalled and corruption remained rampant in the world's largest Muslim country, the Strait Times newspaper reported.
