TOKYO: Japan said it was investigating a possible bird flu outbreak yesterday, a day after hard-hit Thailand's hopes of declaring victory in its war against the highly infectious disease were dashed.
Agriculture Minister Yoshiyuki Kamei told reporters about the possible outbreak just a day before Japan was expected to have declared its sole outbreak of the deadly H5N1 virus over.
