HANOI: A Vietnamese support group and three individuals are suing 10 makers of Agent Orange, a defoliant used by the United States during the Vietnam war that has been linked to cancer and birth defects, an official said yesterday.
The Vietnam Association for Agent Orange Victims and two women and a man filed the lawsuit against 10 companies including Monsanto and the Dow Chemical Company last Friday with a US Federal court in Brooklyn, said Nguyen Trong Nhan, vice-president of the support group.
